We reimagined this dated single story ranch style home as a contemporary family friendly home with an open, airy farmhouse vibe. We achieved a more cohesive design and flow by installing new 7 x 3/4” European light rustic white oak throughout the main house.

The end results speak for themselves! The property sold at $4,025,000, 34% over the asking price of $2,995,000.

GReat room & Kitchen

We transformed the dark and dated space to a clean, modern kitchen with a warm farmhouse feel. The dull beige cabinets and dark wood beams were painted bright white. The dark counters and heavy stone backsplash were replaced with bright white quartz countertops and a fresh tile backsplash. We added a kitchen island painted a chic dark gray with family-friendly counter seating with custom fabricated cabinets and countertops. Under-counter lighting and wine fridge brought this kitchen up to date. The on-trend mix of metallic finishes in the hardware and lighting give the space an updated lease on life.

The dated kitchen tile flooring was removed as was the dark wood flooring in the great room and other living spaces. The 7 x 3/4” European light rustic white oak flooring installed throughout the home organically integrates the open plan aesthetic.

Bathrooms

Characterized by warmth and simplicity, the bathrooms were all designed by combining modern color schemes, shapes, and materials. We utilized contemporary style plumbing fixtures and added mixed metal light fixtures and mirrors to capture the farmhouse feel and brighten and lighten them up. We fully renovated the hallway bathroom -  replacing dated slate floors, shower surround and backsplash with clean white tile, penny tile floors and quartz countertop.  A new pale gray vanity, updated faucets, mirror and lighting completed the look.

bonus room

The open floor plan is broken up with a barn door that leads to a separate bonus room that could serve as the perfect media room or playroom. We painted the barn door and built-ins with a sophisticated dark gray palette.

charming cottage

We updated and brightened the cottage. We painted the cabinets bright white and replaced the dark stone backsplash and counters with fresh white tile and quartz countertops. The dated sinks and faucets were replaced with ones with clean lines. We installed shiplap as well to bring a cozy cottage feel to the space. It’s the perfect spot for a fun kids sleepovers or quiet respite for adults or guests.
